This terracotta statue was a one off project made for a client who used the figure as a water feature. The statue was made in a heavily grogged clay which can withstand frost and low temperatures without cracking. Frances Firth sculpts in terracotta using an earth ware clay. Frances Firth also has her work cast in bronze and aluminum. Frances Firth does her sculpturing from her workshop in Coventry which is in the West Midlands. Frances Firth has worked in Birmingham making models in a friends workshop. Frances Firth takes her work to the jewelry quarters to have bronzes cast at a foundry.
